There Was A Time

There was a time when going to the beach meant strapping our kayaks to the roof of the jeep, packing some candy in the wet bag and making a day out of kayaking, lounging on some remote island off of Lake Ontario, building a fire and cuddling together eating jelly beans and other sweet stuff.
Today, we packed the Jeep full of sand toys, balls, towels, a cooler full of fruit and healthy snacks, and enough sunscreen to cover the four of us for a year.  My, how times have changed - and in the best of ways.

J. and Pea quickly got to work making a moat and sand castles.

Chick and I preferred to lounge.

Future lifeguards?

More lounging.

The camera batteries died before I could capture Gramma and Grampa surprising the twins with a visit. I was also sad to miss capturing Gramma taking the kids into Lake Ontario and getting them (and her) completely soaked and full of sand.  Good times!
