It is obvious that there is good symmetry here. His affected eye (his right) showed the effects of surgery (redness and swelling) more prominently today than yesterday. They are difficult to see in this picture because of the flash, but the stitches are along the crease of the eyelid.
Pea had a difficult night's sleep last night and was awake crying/whining/moaning at least once every hour. Since the levator muscle has been tightened, he is unable to close his right eye completely (yet) and we wondered whether this was causing him some discomfort. Maybe it was just freaking him out. Maybe he was in pain. Maybe he had a tummy ache. We have no idea. At some point in the night, we gave him some Tylenol, but it didn't seem to help.
Today, however, you wouldn't have known he'd had a difficult night nor had surgery at all. Despite the swelling and redness, he played like there was no tomorrow. He's such a trooper!
And just because she's as cute as a button and such a honeybun...
So glad that he is doing so well and that Chick. My gosh, could she really be any cuter and happier????

ReplyDeleteWhat about a soft eye patch at night? A cotton one? Not sure but you can give it a try. I can see the swelling and redness but I can see his beautiful little personality a whole lot more. And then there is C. What a Super Nova! Continued blessings and comfort for you all.
