Every. Single. Day.

The Blueberry Bear turned 12 in August and he is just as feisty as he was when he was a little. In many respects, he still believes that he is a kitten and I'm totally fine with that.

We have every toy known to humans and have invested a small fortune on the latest cat-nippy gadget for Bear, but his addiction to balls in shoes is still going strong. Every single day, when I get home from work, we have to break out the balls and my old Doc Martens for a little hunt. I don't know why.

This was back in March of 2007...his version of the Easter Egg Hunt.

And this was taken just a few moments ago. It is the cutest thing...a little weird too, right?

**No judgment. Until we have children, pictures and video of Bear will grace this blog. He's all we've got.

No judgment made. We have seen Bear up close over that twelve year period and know that he is a special pet and friend. Even with your family he will still be your special friend.

  2. It's hilarious the things that our pets entertain themselves with. We too had purchased a small fortune in cat toys and what did Jazz love? A rolled up piece of aluminum foil. Go figure.

The second video however - super cute!!

My teeth hurt just thinking of Dolores' Jazz biting foil...

  6. Heh! Can't believe your Blueberry Bear is 12 yo! He's so spry and frisky and is able to leap to the top of the cupboards in a single bound! Your adorable little video with the ball and the doc martins is cute.

  8. He's sooo cute and fluffly! I love how playful he is, even when he's older! My cat is pretty young, and pretty much all he does is lie on the couch. Well, sometimes he catches mice, but not too much. Oh, and sometimes he chases my mop. But only to swat a paw at it now and then. He's pretty lazy. Bear is a sweetie, I just want to pick him up and oooh all over him.

  10. Don't apologize for showing video of your fur baby. I love them. It makes me miss my fur baby all over again. I hope that one day soon you will have video of a baby putting the balls into the shoes for Bear to hunt for.
