Two Year Wellness Check

The twins had their two year wellness check and all went well. Luckily, there were no vaccinations this time around, so it was a much more relaxed appointment. They are both doing very well and are healthy as can be. I love our pediatrician and love how well he takes care of all of our concerns. He is also the medical director of the health institute in the city, so we feel so lucky to have him as our kids' pediatrician.

Current Stats

Weight:
Pea: 29 pounds (62nd percentile)
Chick: 26 pounds (40th percentile)

Height:
Pea: 34 inches (45th percentile)
Chick: 34 inches (62nd percentile)

Pea has almost quintupled his birth weight and Chick has quadrupled hers (plus some).  Incredible, isn't it?  So, now the slowing down of weight gain begins and we are to expect the kids to slow their eating some.  This after our little Chick had three bowls of cereal this morning.  Hmph.

In other news, Chick is no longer sleeping in her crib and we all breathed a BIG sigh of relief when we discovered that her new "big girl" bed did not disrupt her beautiful sleep habits.  We were not looking forward to moving her out of her crib because she loved it so much and because she slept so wonderfully in it, but now that she's potty trained, she has to be able to get out of bed to use the washroom when the need arises.  So, the crib is still up just in case, but she has been doing very well in it thus far.  On the first day she slept in it (at nap time) she tried to get out of her room twice, but since then has gone to sleep without any shenanigans.  I had to be quite firm with her and she knows I mean bid-ness.

Isn't she sweet in her teeny toddler bed?  We'll get her a double bed when we find one we like.

Finally, I had a bunch of videos that I decided to string together that outline some of what we do here in our little house on any given day or during any given week.

  1. K, you are so fun!

Burrito's transition to Big Bed has not gone nearly so well as Chick's. Ugh.

The eating slowdown happened all of a sudden for Tamale, about a week after her body started to get leaner. Amazing how their bodies know when it's time.
